LESSON SEQUENCE
- 1.Fix the disputed actions Use Oliver entering the house and escaping through the window. Do
not let the discussion drift to other adventures.
- 2.Parents on the danger Record Mom and Dad’s criticism of the trespassing / dangerous escape
as evidence for 'unsafe decisions.'
- 3.Parents on the intention Record Dad’s acknowledgement that Oliver took the risk because he
wanted to help Diggory as evidence for 'helpful intention.'
- 4.Qualified judgment Students write a judgment that contains both truths, then respond to a
classmate who argues only one side.
ASSESSMENT · LOOK FOR
- Uses the house/window incident only.
- Records evidence from the parents for both interpretations.
- Produces a qualified judgment and an evidence-based response.
