Lesson sequence
1 Two short sentences - 5 min
- Passage 1 - a playroom full of toys with two girls and a dog in it
- Passage 11 - a night sky over a lawn, the family lying in the tent with books round them
- Passage 12 - a woman lifting the tent flap, the family looking up at her
- Focus:
- A sentence built out of a borrowed one
- Teacher model:
- Read the last two pages and ask what the second one leaves out.
- Prepared text:
- Passage 11, Passage 12 2 Take it apart - 6 min
- Teacher direction:
- Write what the last sentence means in full.
- Expected answer:
- That Mommy came out too, into the garden.
