- Her mother's reasons are all about one thing. Listen for what it is.

- I read the pyjamas page and notice the two reasons are not about the same subject. Her mother is talking about being warm after the blankets come off. She is talking about monsters. They are not disagreeing so much as answering two different questions.

- Using Passages 2, 5 and 6, write what her reasons are about.

- Expected answer:
- Being somebody: in the red jacket she can be Red Riding Hood, which the blue one cannot do for her. Being safe: the red pyjamas keep the monsters away while she sleeps. And how something tastes: juice is better out of the red cup, which is not a thing anybody can check. None of hers is about warmth or matching. They are about what red lets her do and be, and that is why her mother being right never settles it.
