LESSON SEQUENCE
- 1.Fix the event Use the ending of the whack-a-duck game only. Remind students that Bink
expected the enormous doughnut.
- 2.Bink’s response Record Bink’s ending: she admits she did not win and measures the result
against the giant prize she expected.
- 3.Gollie’s response Record Gollie’s ending: she emphasizes that everyone survived and
measures the result against how badly the game was going.
- 4.Compare the same ending Students finish with: Bink sees the ending as ___, while Gollie sees
it as ___ because ___.
ASSESSMENT · LOOK FOR
- Uses the same game ending for both characters.
- Includes the enormous doughnut / did-not-win evidence for Bink.
- Includes everyone-survived evidence for Gollie and states the contrast.
