- Paper and pencil Text to mark
- Opening - “Shalom! My name is Pnina” and direct address to the reader
- Snow description - “You won't believe…” and the stardust/flakes description Prepared text You
won't believe that it fell like stardust, sparkled and fell in impossibly big flakes that night against my face.
Lesson sequence
1 The hello - 4 min Read the opening like meeting someone who likes you already. Lift your eyes on the direct-address words and keep the family words accurate. 2 The stardust page - 5 min Read the snow description once plainly and once with controlled wonder. Decide which reading better matches Pnina's voice and explain why.
Teacher key
The opening should sound friendly and direct. The snow passage should sound amazed but not shouted; the wonder comes from pace, emphasis, and the comparison rather than volume alone.
