- A rule everybody in the room knows
- Teacher direction:
- Ask what a grown-up usually makes you eat before you can have pudding. Keep the answers where the class can see them.

- I read the days of the week and notice that this family eats sweets for dinner. Not as a treat - as the meal. Every day of the week has one, and the pictures show exactly the sweet each day is named for.

- Using Passages 10, 12 and 13, write what Little Pea is made to do.
- Expected answer:
- He hates all of it, and the picture says so with a sweet inside a red crossed-out circle in his thought bubble. So he has to eat five pieces before there is any pudding, and the book counts them one at a time with a noise after each number - by the fourth he manages only Pleh. Then the plate is empty and he asks whether he can have dessert now.
